See you out there!
#Backtoschool always means questions about #GASchoolShots. Here's what we know.
I'm assuming that all 7th grade parents understand there are new immunization requirements. This is the notice posted on one of the school websites that my kids go to:
Beginning NEXT school year, 2014-2015, all Fayette County School System 7th grade Students and any NEWLY enrolled students 7th grade and up are REQUIRED to have Meningitis (MCV4) and TDaP (Tetanus, Diphtheria and Whooping Cough) immunizations.
Your healthcare provider or the Fayette County Health Department can administer these immunizations to your student. Please provide the school nurse with your student’s NEW Immunization Certificate (Form 3231).
Not in 7th Grade?
Want to know what's required in Georgia?
Main Department of Education Link - describes general immunization information, exemptions (Medical or Religious).
Current guidelines for Immunizations from the GA Public Health Department. It's a bit confusing to understand - would recommend you talk with your healthcare provider.
More about exemptions. Definitions from DOE(Department of Education) website:
Sorry, I couldn't find an example of a religious exemption letter on google. If I do one, it'll be available here.
